“As a manager and leader, he’s exceptional. Working with Tom, we saw rapid results in creating high-quality technical content. In just a month, he recruited a team of skilled web scraping writers and set up a complete, end-to-end content creation process. Every step was organized under his careful technical audit. What’s more, he designed this entire system with flexibility in mind. Should we choose to bring this operation in-house, Tom has it ready for a seamless handover. I highly recommend working with him.”

What are the best market intelligence tools for improving your ROI?
An often underestimated research tool is Tegus - https://www.tegus.com/ - it's usually used by investors, but when used wisely to catch up on how your competitors look like in the eyes of their customers, you can do both prospecting and product research at once. Also, you'll see the messaging used by your competitors implicitly - the interviewees often share why they chose to use the tool, which is an indication of the objection handling tactics of your competitors' salespeople :)

What are the most effective ways to network at a virtual conference?
I had a colleague once who was a solution engineer. He happened to also be an opera tenor singer, at one point professionally. At the end of the final lecture, he got up on stage and sang what I can only imagine was a his own rendition of one of the popular songs of Les Miserables. It was a stunning success, and everyone and their brother came to talk to him. We came back with 56 SALs expecting 40.

What are the most effective ways to network at a virtual conference?
It's not easy to get a list of the attendees for a conference in advance. Some concrete suggestions: 1. Look for the hashtag of the conference on social media, create a list of all the people you find, then connect / follow and message them individually. 2. If you see sponsoring companies, find the field marketing people for this event on LinkedIn and see if they're up to meet. 3. If you're looking to sell services, look for founders who raised funds recently. You'll often find them in these conferences, and they'll be looking to grow. And maybe more than anything? Talk to the event organizers. They often let slip some super important pieces of information, knowingly or not :)

How can you simplify technical writing for social media?
Simple analogies work wonders, since they are often short and refer to everyday concepts. Consider embeddings (in the context of machine learning) - you can say that they are vectors designed to be used by ML models in, for example, similarity searches. You can also compare them to fingerprints for words, that reveal their true meaning. Just as comparing fingerprints can help you find a person, embeddings help AI figure out how words are connected. While not a 100% analogy, it removes the cruft and learning curve and allows for the discussion to start, rather than stop, at the mention of a complicated technical term.

Created a qualification system for the country's first academic software bootcamp - WeCode, used to screen through thousands of applicants. One of my proudest achievements, as the work WeCode does is nothing short of remarkable.
